Breaking the Mold: The Potential of Twiggs for Mayor Campaign in Reshaping New Orleans' Public Policy
New Orleans, a city with a rich cultural tapestry and unique challenges, has long been governed by the Democratic Party. While this continuity has its merits, it has also led to a certain uniformity in policymaking. The emergence of an independent candidate as mayor could provide a fresh perspective, challenging the status quo and bringing innovative solutions to longstanding problems.
The Monopoly of Democratic Governance: Democratic governance in New Orleans has, over the years, become synonymous with the city's political identity. This monopoly has led to a certain inertia, where policies are often recycled without substantial innovation or adaptation. Key issues like socio-economic disparity, weakening job market, struggling infrastructure, and disaster preparedness have seen repeated policy failures. Twiggs for Mayor campaign is the independent candidate for the people, free from the constraints of party politics, Twiggs offers a new approach to these persistent challenges.

Mental and Medical Health Reform

Education and Teacher Reform
The future of New Orleans hinges on the success of its education system. Our comprehensive education reform combines a dynamic reform of our current school system with initiatives to enhance teacher quality, update curricula, and ensure equitable access to education for all students. Including raises for teachers and support staff.
Crime and Anti-Corruption Reform
A safe and just city is a thriving city. This reform focuses on reducing crime through community engagement, enhancing police accountability, and rooting out corruption within public offices. By fostering trust and transparency, we aim to create a safer and more equitable New Orleans while restoring public perception of City Hall.
Infrastructure Reform and Job Creation
Economic growth and robust infrastructure are the backbones of a prosperous city. This pillar aims to create jobs (estimated to be near 41,000 or 10,000-11,000 per year) through infrastructure projects. Twiggs aims to foster economic development, and enhance the quality of life for New Orleans residents by modernizing the city’s infrastructure and utilities.
